We believe that the Biblical definition of a Church is an local organized body of born again, baptized believers, voluntarily joined together in order to accomplish the Great Commission. We also believe that the True Church are those who hold to the doctrines, principles and precepts taught by Jesus and His Apostles, and who hold to and practice the Baptist Distinctives. That being said, we have come to realize that all across America, these same Independent Baptist Churches are declining or closing their doors in ever increasing numbers. We believe that this does not need to happen.
In our conversations with Pastors and Church leaders, our study of Church statistics, and through our personal experiences serving within and working with local churches, we discovered two of the leading reasons for this decline. First, there are many Pastors who are standing alone, exhausted, frustrated, and in desperate need of help. Secondly, many local Churches have a weak or non existent soul winning effort.
As Aaron and Hur set a rock under and “stayed up” the hands of Moses in the day of battle (Ex. 17:10-12), our calling is to support and stay up the hands of Pastors of local Independent Baptist Churches or Church plants, as they battle to reach their Jerusalem with the Gospel of Christ. We desire to be a friend and brother to the Pastor, to serve him, to encourage him, and to assist him in anyway accomplish to their part of the Great Commission. We believe that the Lord’s return is eminent, and it is time to shore up our brothers in Christ who are standing alone. We intend to help them to train up soul winners within their church membership, and help them to get the Churches they are called to Pastor, healthy, growing, and productive for God’s Kingdom again.
With many Baptist churches going the way of the “New Community” the time is now to stem this compromising tide. We need to plant new works and strengthen or restore existing Biblically sound Independent Baptist Churches now. Thousands of lost souls are in the balance, will you do your part?
